This two-day development course is aimed at the mountain runner looking to gain confidence and technical ability running in the mountains. We will coach you on uphill movement with or without poles, show you how to move over rocky sections and give you the tools to descend steep ground like a pro. You will also receive a wealth of other important techniques and tips that will help you move faster in the mountains.

Like all mountain sports, SkyRunning carries a high level of risk and those undertaking this activity must accept this to attend the course. Safety is our number one priority and our excellent safety record is a testament to this. All of our Running Guides are qualified and experienced mountain professionals with years of experience running in the mountains. 


ABILITY LEVEL

This course is aimed at anybody who already runs in the mountains and aspiring for something more adventurous or some preparation for events like the UTS, Skyrace series or any other mountain races. Typically you will run around 15km per day - with around 900-1200m of ascent. ACCOMMODATION

    Accommodation is not included in the price of this course however, you will find no shortage of places to stay. Our accommodation guide will be issued on request and lists the popular options in the area.

Course Fees 1.1 - Course places must be reserved online, by email or by telephone and a minimum deposit will apply. 1.2 - The balance of the course fee is payable before the course commences. 1.3 - If the course fee is not paid in full The Mountaineering Company reserve the right to refuse you to participate on the course or event. 1.4 - All brochure prices are exempt of V.A.T 2. Cancellation by Client 2.1 - All cancellations must be made in writing or by email 2.2 - Once notified of the cancellation by email or post The Mountaineering Company will attempt to sell your place(s) 2.3 - In the event that The Mountaineering Company is able to re-sell the course place prior to the commencement date of the course, the client will receive a full refund less 20% of the course cost to cover administration fees. 2.4 - Refunds will only be made after the commencement date of the course. 2.5 – Should The Mountaineering Company be unable to re-sell the course place(s) prior to the course commencement date the client will be charged the following cancellation fees: Your deposit unless we can resell the place(s) (see point 2.3). The full course fee if the cancellation is made less than 8 weeks before the course start date unless we can resell the place (see point 2.3) 2.3 To cover all eventualities we recommend an insurance policy that includes cancellation or curtailment of your trip or holiday. 2.4 In line with our normal terms and conditions we will not be offering refunds for clients who simply don’t want to attend our courses. 2.5 Whilst unlikely, we cannot rule out having the event cancelled by government restrictions. Should this be the case we would be in touch at the first opportunity and make sure you get a transfer or refund. 3. Cancellation by The Mountaineering Company 3.1 - Although we will attempt to ensure that courses run as scheduled, in the event that The Mountaineering Company need to cancel a course due to unsuitable conditions or other unforeseen circumstances we will notify the client as soon as possible. 3.2 – The Mountaineering Company will notify clients no less than seven full days prior to a course start date if a course needs to be cancelled. 3.3 - In the event of cancellation by The Mountaineering Company, clients will be offered the following options: Another course on different dates. A full refund of the course fee paid. 3.4 - The Mountaineering Company will not be held responsible for any accommodation costs incurred and we advise you to take out cancellation insurance for this eventuality (see notes 2.3) 4. Risks and Dangers Whilst our instructors will do everything in our power to ensure your safety, the dynamic nature of the outdoor environment means we can never ensure your safety in every situation. You are responsible for accepting the risks of injury or death and we ask that you read the British Mountaineering Council's participation statement below. “Hill walking and mountaineering are activities with a danger of personal injury or death. Participants in these activities should be aware of and accept these risks and be responsible for their own actions and involvement”
